Lately I see this question pop up, and yes a lower version of OS might be
faster but you have to remember what software is available for 7.1, not a
lot. Not to say that 8.1 which can run on a 475 will be as fast as 7.1 or
7.5.3 or whatever but take in mind what you will be using it for and check
to see what app's you are not going to be able to use using such a lower
version of OS.
