Wrong. Support is one thing, but support has nothing to do with possibility. I haven't yet read anything here that would prevent a pre-8.1 Mac from connecting to an ISP. Any ISP. Did I miss something about proprietary software needed that was somehow 8.1 only? > but Earthlink still supports 7.1, though unfortunately our Mac training is a > bit sketchy across the board... BellSouth (live tech help) likes to send Mac users to a "new site" that presumably has all sorts of juicy FAQs. The page needs a cookie, which is not available for Macs. The page spits out a message (if you're lucky) stating that the browser is out of date, when it isn't. Earthlink, perhaps because of the old Mindspring infusion still has one of the best online Mac help sections of any ISP I've seen. Links to shareware and sites about your Extensions, screen shots of how to set up your control panels too. Right now, Scott is cringing because he knows the majority of that stuff is circa 7.5/7.6 ... Got any influence over that, Scott? -David -- Quadlist is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
