You can connect a Mac monitor to a NeXT Color slab . Use one of the
multisync models as the NeXT is a fixed frequency video mode 1120x832,
75dpi @ 68hz and is a little different from the Mac mode. You may have
to open the monitor and adjust the vertical and horizontal size to
properly fill the screen. I'm not positive of this, but I had to
readjust the NeXT monitor after it had been tweaked for use with the
Mac, so the converse may be true. YMMV. The slab puts out the +-12v to
the soundbox to power the keyboard, mouse and interface circuit board in
the soundbox, but the voltage isn't passed thru to the color monitor. I
verified this with a voltmeter on my own Turbo Color slab with N4006
monitor and ADB soundbox. All you need to connect is the three coaxial
leads. Beware that the monitor need to be able to handle sync-on-green.
I'm not sure what the Mac monitor expects. You can hack up a
sync-on-green to seperate sync adapter, do a search on
comp.sys.next.hardware for details.

BTW, there are two versions of the NeXT 21" color monitor. One is a BNC
commection and needs a NeXT BNC to 13w3 cable adapter, one is straight
13w3. I have an example of both. The monitor that I have that was used
with the Mac was the BNC version, but the Mac cable that came with the
monitor was a DB-15 to 13w3 cable. so the NeXT 13w3 N206.300 adapter
was used. This adapter only has the coaxial leads connected to the
monitor. All other pins are dead ended in the adapter.
