Hello. Thanks to everyone for the advice on the 660AV. I just read the posts this morning. We will find a PRAM battery and go from there.
Now we have a Performa 637CD to get working. It came with a standard-looking extended ADB keyboard except that it has a permanent cable leaving the keyboard at the middle back (above the F9 key) rather than a removeable cable that attaches from either the left or right. The non-painted Apple logo is centered above the F9 key. There's one port in the back that either the keyboard or the mouse attaches to. Next, there's a 6ish-foot cable, with 8 pins and the Apple logo on each end. Then there's a Macally Port Xpander that's interesting. First, there are three ports that the above-mentioned cable will plug into. However, it actually would accomodate 9 pins. The symbol above these ports is an up arrow. The cable extending out is about 3 ft, and splits into two male ends. One is the same 8 pins, with the arrow logo. This fits the modem & printer ports. The other is the 4-pin ADB, BUT it is sort of a reverse-Y, where you can plug another ADB into its backside. With this hardware, I can't come up with the right combination to make the keyboard and mouse work. Incidentally, the keyboard & mouse from another computer do work.
