O.K. I'm embarrassed. I found where the mouse connects to the keyboard. I've never seen one of these before. I didn't know where they hid the ADB port for the mouse. At this point, I don't even need that Macally Port Xpander. That was probably used to connect peripherals. Everything works just fine.
