Nope, no experience running a Mac on Novell, but I'm a 4.11 CNE with some experience installing 6. It shouldn't be a problem even if you need a client--Novell has supported Macs for a long time. He may need to turn on long name support (it seemed to me that this installed automatically when we installed 6. Would be a good idea to check it out.) Novell is strictly TCP/IP these days, so you may be right. Depends on how he has the network setup. It's possible to lock it down pretty tightly.
