Well, I'm afraid I don't have any experience installing via the CDs. I went here: http://www.mac.linux-m68k.org and followed the instructions there, using those kernels and such. All I had to download was the Penguin booter, a boot disk image, and the base debs. From there I got everything else from the internet doing a net install. DSL makes that easy.
If you're on some kind of broadband, that would probably be the way to go. If nothing else, you have access to the full array of formatting tools even there. You may have to do some arcane dd command to force a wipe, but it should be doable.
