At this point I'd suggest giving it to me or try changing the pram 
battery as suggested, yeah I know others have already suggested this but 
if ten other people continue to recommend the same action over the next 
two days it will give you a fair idea of the pci list. ;)

Try a search of the pci list archives and take the cd's instructions as 
a last resort.
If the hard drive makes all the right noises to make you think that the 
computer is booting, hit the shutdown key then the return key to confirm 
shutdown, a couple of hits of the return key wont hurt after the hdd has 
finished activity on boot up either.
