Hrm....or you could just soak in a vinegar-salt solution, which cleans up contacts just as well as HCl or phosphoric acid without any of the hazmat cleanup in the case of a spill, and is much more easily obtainable and less harsh on the contacts. Oh, and no rinsing off Coke residue ;) --
