Needless to say YES that is a good place to go to look for info on 5xx machines as they are the same form factor. >>Coast to Coast Memory has a SNED32U/128/G5V60,128 MEG 72 PIN 60NS SIMM >>32*32-60 EDO, 2k refresh, single bank for $26, They're into 'maybe' it > >If it's really 2K refresh it should work, but get the specific part number off >the SIMMs and then check the CC FAQ for more. I have a single bank 2K Refresh 64MB in 2 of my 475s. Work fine. >>Is the 575 Comm Slot good for anything?? >Ethernet or modem. Both of which are slow via the comm-slot, ethernet though is marginally better than via the LCPDS slot, but still not as fast as built-in or NuBus. >>Last year, thought I'd run across some Voice Command software than worked >>for 68040's & up, but don't seem to locate it now. I only ever tried it on an 840av so I can't tell you for sure, the only other machine I know that it works on is the 660av because that was the machine in the original Apple advert. I do know for a fact it's a pig to get working, I couldn't install 1.6(may be 5-not sure).3 using the installer, I had to pull out all the files using TomeViewer. Either way - voice recognition is a bit of a running joke in computing circles, what little I've tried in OS X Jaguar doesn't seem mush better than the 840av version! -- Mark Benson Vintage Macs List Nanny http://homepage.mac.com/markbenson http://fpm.gotdns.com -- Quadlist is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
