See, I know that when Apple wrote the manuals for the last 68k Mac in 1994, there were no bigger simms available than 32MB, but it is like I wrote, some simms over 32MB may work, but definitely *not all*, like I wrote in my post:
"Maybe some memory will work, but better check it first since 128MB simms are somewhat expensive" I checked it once again with a Q840av, I tried 64MB Simms (Kingston) and 128MB simms (TYP:SEC/KM44C16100BK-6). These are 100% OK, work like a charm in my Powermacs, but plugged into a Q610, Centris660av or a Q840, they are not recognised in their full size, I get sizes not over 32MB. Of course I tried all possible slot combinations. Some machine´s ram controller cannot handle bigger sized memory and some can. So - the best idea would be to make sure that the memory is supported in that specific machine - just to be saved from disapointment. I could not read what is written in the macfaq (down?), but I found this link: http://www.lowendmac.com/tech/64mb.html -Peter ---------- >Von: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (Quadlist) >An: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (Quadlist) >Betreff: Quadlist Digest #1148 >Datum: Fre, 24.
