I've done a bit of behind-the-scenes work on the serial number decoder at http://macfaq.org/serial.html
and I've decided I'd like to extend it to at least the rest of the 68K Macs and Apple-branded peripherals if possible, so I need more data. If I can get people to send me serial number model of Mac or peripheral model number (M0239, for instance) approximate year of production (for example, Color Classics say the month and year they were made on the s/n sticker) anything else you know about that particular device I'll see what I can do about reverse-engineering Apple's serial number generation algorithms.
