My own favourite for doing this uses AppleScript so the minum requirement is
any Mac OS that has AppleScript, I use 7.6.1, but it will work fine in an
older Mac OS, I think as far back as 7.1.3 or 7.1 Pro as long as AppleScript
is present.

Also the Applet is free and I can send it to anyone who asks. :-}
