I do know my Q950 with the AWS95 PDS card and full 512K cache running A/UX 3.1 is very fast (compared to other 68k Macs) moving files using the nubus NIC, does yours have the pds card or is it a stock 950?

I have a IIfx also just never tried A/UX on it, if you gets yours running
let me know how well it works.

So far I havnt been able to get my Mac OS running 68k macs to move more then
500KB/sec through any of the nubus network cards I have. Is 500KB/Sec about
what your getting?

Powermac, actually I have the same set up as you. A 950 with the AWS 95 PDS card. All the slots filled with simms on the card. Using A/UX with AppleShare Pro I get great throughput using the built in 10BaseT. On my 950's and 650's and 800's I get about the same as you under optimal circumstances using Speed Doubler Faster Network copies using TCP/IP. Just using Finder file copying using the MacOS, say 7.5.5 or 7.6.0 or 8.1 on these old Quadra's I get much slower transfer rates. The IIfx gets anywhere from 125KB/sec to 175KB/sec using Speed Doubler and OpenTransport. I have found the IIfx is about 120% to 133% faster on the network using classic networking instead of OpenTransport. I love the old Nubus Macs but two things that keep me going to newer Mac's for my servers instead of using say a 950 with A/UX is the 2 gig size limit on the drive partitions and that I get better results on the network with pci Mac's with 10/100 cards. I would love to be able to use A/UX 3.0.1 with large partitions and a 10/100 Nubus ethernet card as my main server. Anybody know how to achieve this?
