Not sure, any ideas? I tried a quick transfer from a PC setup as a ftp server, the 7500 and the 840AV. Speeds were very low (400K/sec to the 7500, and 300K/sec to the 840av). I used the same version of Fetch (ftp client) for both transfers, and I know the PC can dump at least a few MB/sec. I did see my router light up like a Christmas tree even though I used the local PC ip to do the connection (169.254.*.*) so it wouldn't connect through my cable modem over the net (which cant do more then 350K/sec anyway).
If I use a PC for the source file I am stuck using TCP/IP (which is why I tried to test speed using an FTP server). Maybe I should just stick to transferring from Mac to Mac? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kris Jones" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Quadlist" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, July 19, 2004 5:44 PM Subject: Re: [q] 10/100 > I'd be interested in seeing those benchmarks. > > What benching utilities will you be using? > > > >From: "Powermac" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > >Reply-To: "Quadlist" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > >To: "Quadlist" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > >Subject: Re: [q] 10/100 > >Date: Mon, 19 Jul 2004 17:41:26 -0400 > > > > > >Have you done any real benchmarks? > > > >Nubus slots up to the 840av are 32bit 10Mhz for 40MB/sec bandwidth, Nubus 2 > >on the 840av and the PPC nubus machines should be double that.
