Make sure you put it in something VERY water proof. Frost on the drive will kill it faster than anything else.
Overview: 1. Carefully remove old hard drive from the computer 2. Place the hard drive in a SEALABLE plastic bag 3. Place that plastic bag in a second SEALABLE plastic bag 4. Replace step 3 until you feel safe :-) 5. set the plastic bundle in the freezer 6. wait until the drive get good and cold 7. remove the bundle from the freezer and get the drive out the plastic and into the computer asap 8. boot the machine and get whatever you can off the drive. This will likely be the last time that drive is usable, so have floppies, a cd burner, second external hard drive, network connection and server, ANYTHING just to get the bare essentials off that drive 9. buy a new drive, throw out old drive, invest in a backup solution for those important files you need :-) --- Brennan Cleveland <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Justin, > > Very litterally... put it in the freezer.
