AFAIK Qlogic is the only supported option for the frontend connectivity, so
no Qlogic - no VTL access.
In the recent versions ‘Access Management’ tab shows both Emulex and Qlogic
cards as 'Initiator,Target’ - so I might be wrong with the previous
statement - better confirm with the Quadstor Team.


Perfectly working config for TSM:

Dual port Emulex card(s) for the backend connectivity (zoned to storage
array(s))
Dual port Qlogic card(s) for the frontend connectivity (zoned to VTL
consumers)

SSD LUN from storage array or local SSDs in RAID-1/10 for ‘Default’ storage
pool (dedup metadata only)
NLSAS/SATA LUNs from storage array(s) or local RAID-5 (for the smaller
installations) for the storage pool with virtual cartridges

Everything will work without SSDs, but it takes forever (~30 minutes for
 ~120Tb of vcartridge data) to load dd tables from NLSAS during service
startup.

VTL library emulation: TS3500 (IBM 3584)

lin_tape driver on Linux servers (with persistent device naming
configuration, as per IBM document)
Atape driver on AIX servers

Please post the output of `lspci | grep Fibre` from the VTL server to list
all the FC cards available to the system, just to make sure.
