Hi team,

Bit of a long note, but please read.

Great work closing out the Quantum Folsom RC1 release. All targeted
bugs are now closed:
https://launchpad.net/quantum/+milestone/folsom-rc1

Late tonight US time, early tomorrow Europe time, ttx and I will pull
the branch for Folsom. At this point, the master branch will be open
for Grizzly, meaning that people can commit code without the Folsom RC
restrictions we've had in place for the past few weeks.

It also means that any bug we consider critical enough to be fixed
post RC will have to first be merged into master, then I will
cherry-picked the change into the Folsom branch. If you have an issue
that you think qualifies send email to me, and if we need to have
discussion around it, we will cc this quantum-core email list.

At this point, let's turn our full attention to documentation for the
next few days. Documentation is critical for testing and validating
the release for two reasons:

1) Writing docs turns out to be a really good way of discovering
corner cases we hadn't though of before.
2) Docs enable more people to try out Quantum, and more people trying
it are more people testing it.

Please take a look at:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xdovP4u8gLq3h3L2OYWhw9z5xGXFuJ3wO2NobHWof_M/edit?disco=AAAAAE2Fk2M&pli=1#

We also want to start testing with packages, not devstack, as this is
how our users will experience Quantum. If devstack works, but
packages are broken, quantum as a whole will appear to be broken.

For Ubuntu, Emilien has put together a useful doc:
https://github.com/EmilienM/openstack-folsom-guide/raw/master/doc/out/pdf/openstack-folsom-guide.pdf

For Fedora, Bob is spinning up new packages and in the past has put
together really great documentation around them, so we should be good
there.

Let's keep test, but also get some rest... its been quite an effort :)

Dan
