My AA breakdown will take it where ever i want, maybe next time get it recovered to a local garage.
I don't really think you can blame the garage for the fact that the car isn't near them. They have offered to look at it again for free which is more than a lot would. Intermittent electrical faults on cars can be very tricky to fix.
