I asked FJ a while back if there was an option to include track days and
they categorically wouldn’t entertain it neither as an add on to a specific
policy nor a new one. Attending track days doesn’t invalidate your existing
policy as you're not racing, there's no timing etc

There are a few specific track day insurance policies you can get, but
they're different from regular insurance in so much as you tell them when
you're going, how long you're there for, whether it's open pit lane or not.
Last time I looked, insurance was around £150 for the day, 3rd party only. I
don’t know if there's an equivalent fully comp.

Have a look at Lotus On Track. I know, you don’t have a Lotus - they set up
for Elise/Exiges originally but anything 2 seater in the spirit they're OK
with. There are a few MX5's, 993's and the odd Ferrari out there as well as
Lotus. They will insist on you doing training and sessions before allowing
you on an OPL day, but its in the interest of everyone that youre not a
mobile chicane, and their prices are very good. I joined when I had an Elan,
a few mates have Exiges and I've passengered/shared driving. Very good
discipline, everyone gets along and there's rarely any problems. They have a
few deals with insurers and hotels if you need them and a regular trip to
Spa that’s worth booking.

Bookatrack are also very well respected as a good organiser and I think also
have a few tie ins with insurers too

Subject: [Quantum Owners] Track day insurance

Has anybody got any info or experience, good or bad, of track day
insurance? I am planning to do a few this year and would prefer not to
loose out totally in the event of a little accident. Any thoughts from
the QOC?

Cheers Eddie
