I've been taking steps towards putting my saloon (and sylva jester) kits through SVA. Crazy though it seems, the authorities state it's ok to drive the car to SVA (has to be insured though), for its mechanical check - when it may or may not be roadworthy. Having passd it's SVA (and presumably good mechanical state), it is then ILLEGAL to drive it to the VOSA office to get the chasssis and engine numbers checked even if it is insured!
