Hi all, I am still trying to get my 1.6 efi engined 2+2 running. So
far I have replaced the fuel tank, pump, filter and pipes, the coil
pack, ht leads and plugs, the ecu, idle control valve, and map sensor,
checked the wiring and vacuum pipes, and taken the head off checked
the valves and followers but although it now starts easily the
tickover is "unhappy" and on a test drive I got extreme surging when I
tried to change to second and pull up a hill. The latest suspect is
the throttle position pot. I have 5v going in but when I removed and
tested the pot it seems to be completely open cicuit between all pins
at all throttle positions. When I disconected the pot with the engine
running I could not detect any changes. I just missed a pot on ebay
and I was quoted an unbelievable £110 at the main dealer. So has ayone
any thoughts on this or even better anyone have a spare throttle
position sensor they could sell me. Thanks Stewart
