Due to hopefully a house move this year i need to make some space in my
workshop at my parents place for storing furniture so some of the
Quantums need to go.

The H4 4x4 i still want to do so that means the 2 Mk1's need to go as i
don't know when i'll get time to do them as well

Car one.

This is chassis number 003 which was the first Quantum ever sold, was in
a lot of the kit car mags at the time and even been driven by Prince
Philip (i think thats the right one) when Quantum won some business award.
It is now just a rolling shell, striped down (except glass) and needing
a complete rebuild.
There is poorly repaired accident damage to the front passenger corner
and the bonnet is the earlier single skinned one which has flexed so
much in the middle the gelcoat has broken away.
The original XR2 engine and gearbox have been chucked as has any of the
trim etc was wasn't worth keeping.
I do have the set of Ghia seats that came in it and a Ghia dash.
And should also have all the Quantum specific parts.

Car two.

This is chassis number 017, this is the last Mk1 Quantum sold.
It was never finished by it's previous owner so is unregistered.
It was a poor moulding with dozens of bubbles just under the gelcoat and
was sold cheap by Quantum.
The person i bought it from lost interest after fitting the engine and
suspension so like 003 it's a rolling shell but this one hasn't had any
of the panels (doors, boot etc) fitted.
It has an improved double skinned bonnet.
I've removed the engine and gearbox (4 speed) and they have gone.
It has a wiring loom, glass and all of the Quantum specific parts,
rubber seals etc.

I had several plans for 017, originally i was going to build it up, then
later i was going to take a mould from the bonnet and front corner of
017 to make a new bonnet and a repair section for 003, then the last
plan was to scrap 017 and use the parts from it to repair 003.
You could of course build 017 and keep it registered as 003 but that it
wouldn't really be 003 then with it's associated history.
The plan with 003 was always to restore it looking fairly original, just
doing period upgrades to ghia spec etc.
With that in mind i also have a 1.9l CVH which appears in good condition
(i've removed the head) and just needs a complete gasket and seal set to
sort out the oil leaks it was suffering from.
I've also 1(maybe 2) Webber 34DMTR carbs and manifolds to go with the
engine.
I can also supply several Mk2/3 Fiesta gearboxs in unknown (but should
be ok) condition and various other parts such as brake calipers etc.
Most of the suspension is still on the cars so they can be moved around
and i have collected some new balljoints, suspension arms etc.
I would think there is enough parts to build one car up no problem but
can't say for sure till i've sorted it all out.

I'm happy to donate the 2 cars to somebody but on the condition that 003
is restored and not scrapped.
The engine and carbs etc i'd like a small amount for if they go with the
cars as they have cost me over the years.
Anything else that i have thats Mk1 Fiesta that i have can go with them,
or even Mk2 parts that i don't need for my Mk2 saloon or 2+2

The cars are in West Sussex near Gatwick and obviously you need to make
2 trips to get both cars back plus a transit or something for the spare
parts. I may be able to arrange delivery via my brother at cost but
you'd need to come up and see them first.
Any interest ?
There are pictures of them on my website www.quantums.info but they are
back when i bought them, 017 has been kept inside since but 003 is
outside (as it's pretty much water tight) and gone rather green.
I can take more pictures this weekend if wanted.

Thanks,

Jim
