My coupe had a mk3 escort rad in it with the 1818 ferriday lump and never had any cooling probs.I currently have a mk5 escort rad fitted with the built in cooler for the gearbox .
In it's last spec I had an xr4x4 rad in the 2+2.mounted in front of the subframe. The bonnet was cut back to diesel turbo spec by old Q when made. If anyone wants a mk3 escort rad I have a brand new one here sent in error by a supplier who didn't want it back. Tried to find a second hand one but no luck. Then I came across a Mk3 Escort rad at a car show last weekend, new and boxed for £25. They have the same connections just a couple of inches wider. Just need to trim a bit of the bottom fixings off and it fitted in. It's tight on the bottom hose and I replaced the top hose with a new one for £1 from the same show. Anyone else tried this yet, hopeing it will give me a bit extra cooling for when i uprate the engine. No virus found in this incoming message.
