What i know of the possible problems were that it cools the engine, you need to 'retard' the timing, cooler spark plugs. There can also be a fueling issue. Luckily mines a wet kit so it has the nitrous and fuel solunoid, which means that it should hopefully work independently of the current fuel pump and put less strain on it if i install another fuel pump.
Ive also been told that at high revs or red lining then the fuel automaticly cuts out and if nitrous is injected with no fuel then it can be pretty disasterous. In all honesty its not that bad, like all mods all it is designed to do is get more oxygen into the engine, it all depends on what kit/ engine you have and how its set up. Ive put one bottle on ebay in the hope of raising some money for a progressive controller for the nitrous instead of the current button/kill switch set up. I am unsure of what BHP it delivers but i should be putting it into a Fiesta Zetec S at the weekend to have a look, hopefully its not a 175bhp shot. Ive ordered a couple of books on setting it up properly and how to manage/maintain it in the safest way, should go well with the planned 2.1ZVHT. All i need now is the parts, which is where the university scolorship for books and equipment comes in handy :-) On Apr 29, 10:27 pm, "Matthew" <[email protected]> wrote: > How and why were old kits destructive? > > I'm aware that if you stick 500+ bhp on top of whatever you've got in a CVH > then you are asking for trouble, however what's the difference to turbo > charging it?
