I think those of us that do longer journeys, or drive regularly, with
the roof down will usually have the windows up or side screens fitted,
because it is both quieter and more comfortable (having your head
constantly buffeted around and getting a face full of whatever comes
off the road and round the windscreen being considered
'uncomfortable').
I've driven convertibles as my main car for over twenty years and, as
I have regular hearing checks with my job, I know that my hearing
hasn't suffered because of it, unfortunately, however, most of my hair
has blown away!
Also this report is based on one sentence:
"Regular exposure to noise levels of 88-90 decibels when driving a
convertible for several hours a day can lead to permanent hearing loss
over time."
After reading this bit I have to ask how many of us drive 'for several
hours a day', presumably most days, with the roof and windows down?
(If you do, can I have your job?)

Dave
