Robert,
As your car is post-92 it has a slightly different layout to the earlier
models, but they usually use the same colour relays across models, should
you go to a scrape yard to find a replacement - should only be a couple of
quid. Failing that go to a good motor factors, as the Ford dealer will
probably be very expensive! I think I've paid over £25 for a hard to find
relay before now.

Anyway, location, location, location.

Holding the fuse box so the relays are facing up and the fuses to the front
the dip-dim relay should be the middle row, furthest right. The relay to
the left of that is for full beam.

When you pull the relay out see if any of the contacts look like they have
burnt out, or if there is any corrosion around the contacts. Look at the
connectors within the fuse box to see if the plastic around them has melted
at all, of if these connectors look dirty at all. If they do try to clean
carefully with a needle file, or small piece of emery cloth.

However if the switch being replaced before fixed the issue, I wouldn't
suspect the relay, or fuse. Check all the connectors on the light stalks
for dirt/corrosion/blackening etc as this could be where you are getting the
fault. Again consider a local breakers yard rather than uncle Henry, as I
don't recall this being a common failure point, plus if you take the car to
the breakers they might even let you test the replacement before you leave.

Regards,
Steve
