Hi Martin, I'll add my tips to the suggestions so far.

If you feel tha the battery is taking 2 days to discharge, that suggests a
drain of around an amp. (40 AH battery). Thats a load of around 10 watts (very
round figures) which leads me to think it could be a bulb on.

I have certainly seen exactl;y similar problem on an AC 3000. It was down to
wear on the boot lid where the sensor switch touched the lid. A piece of sticky
tape prooved the problem. With the boot shut we didn't see the lamp on!

We went several weeks trying to trace the issue following all of the
suggestions that you have already been given until one day i caught the 1 amp
drain on athe meter.

So i suggest checking any hidden lamps and switches that you have. Glove box
maybe?

I have also just fixed similar symptoms on my Quantum but with a quite
different source.

The alternator is in circuit when the ignition is off and I did get a clue
eventually when the ignition light started strange behavours.

After much testing and frustration I found that the wire from the armature
winding that goes to the brush plate (lucas 17ACR) had fractured and was
intermittently working. I also found that the "B" connection had it's wire
poorly wrapped around the lucar connector.

So I suggest that you check the wiring to the alternator. It's proximity to the
exhaust could have damaged it or indeed the alternator itself despite the fact
that the output appears to be good.

Hope that helps and good luck

Ken
