My wee Q is a bit sick - it's spewing oil Steam cleaned it all today at work and it looks like the sump is leaking from the gasket at the oil pump end when the egine is revved - ok at idle. Thought it was front crank seal, so had to drop the engine down a couple of inches to get the pulley and timing cover off but it was pretty dry behind it, so will try a sump gasket first.
Might end up doing engine overhaul sooner than planned but would rather dive it through the summer and do the engine in the winter as long as I can reduce the oil leak. Engine has a fair bit of back pressure, although compressions are not bad at 140ish. Took off one big end and it has only minor pick up consistent with the age of the engine.
