Thanks for the tip Jim, I am scrabbling round trying to find a friend
with an appropriate piece of plastic to tax online. I think I shall
have to do it the old fashioned way and deliver some pound notes to
the post office. I checked the Askmid entry for the car and it was
showing as insured just 20 mins after hanging up the phone. How things
have changed... Even nostalgia isn't what it once was!

Cheers for the hint Martin. I am in the process of knocking up a
diagnostic box to see if there is a spark when the problem occurs.
