Many years ago I rebuilt a gearbox, and tried the bearing specialists -
finding the price high (but I guess lower than the car manufacturer), I then
asked at my local gearbox reconditioner. He was happy to sell the parts, and
they worked out VERY cheap (and they were the same make as the bearing
specialist was selling!). So may be worth trying another avenue (but I guess
reconditioners are getting a bit thin on the ground now.

If you get the make and part number and contact your local bearing
supplier they will be able to source bearings at much less than Ford
prices.
You could also try Burton Power, they sell bearings for Ford gearboxs.
