On the basis that half a loaf is better than no bread why not mount the brake light on the targa top. Alternatively if the car is only likely to be used as a 2 seater could a brake light be mounted on a support that runs between the headrests of the driver and passenger seat. My first thought on this would be to use either seat belt material or possibly the kind of netting sometimes used for luggage racks. To avoid any problems of compliance with standards for angles of view etc that might relate to brake lights one might use a panel on which the word Stopping was illuminated when appropriate. Michael
