Hi,
When building my 2+2 I already noticed this possible event.
In my setup it does not matter if the headlight fuse blows.
The flap motor is in my setup on a seperate fuse / 12Vpower parallel to the
hightlights fuse.
I do remenber that when wireing the car I changed this
I used an extra cable from the fusebox - before the hightlight fuse!! - to
the flap motor and a extra in line fuse under the bonnet.
If I have the lights on and the headlight fuse blows - the flaps stay open
until I turn the lights of.

Subject: [Quantum Owners] Headlight fuses
I found myself in the unfortunate position on Tuesday of doing 8?mph
on the m4 with no headlights. After going over a bump/animal/pothole
the fuse for the n/s headlight blew. As the n/s operates the headlamp
flap motor the flaps closed up and left me in the dark! The cautionary
tale here is that for a few pennies it may be worth investing in a
couple of extra diodes and wiring in the offside dip and main to the
motor circuit so power on either side will keep the headlights
visible. This is what I did. 70p and 20 mins for a whole stack of
peace of mind.
Since then I have gone over the wiring as best I am able to try to
find a short. While I have found and corrected some very poor wiring I
am still blowing fuses for the n/s headlight and sidelights. one or
the other fuse may blow under acceleration. The only link I can think
of between the two circuits is the dim dip controller. I know one is
fitted but I am unable to find it. Can anyone point me in the right
direction and give me a clue what it looks like? If I find it I will
remove it as I don't like dim dip.
