Some very good points from Michael. My 2 penn'orth:- Any new parts will soon become old ones, and may again be difficult to find. Some of the most successful kit manufacturers seem to have a successful policy of designing their kit around a recent donor, getting a good few sales over say, a 5yr period then selling the project on before the parts supply becomes difficult. IMHO a way round this is to design around a 'classic' donor, so the parts remain in supply. I can get more parts now for my MGB based Calvy Mitchel than when I built it 24yrs ago (though I'd stear clear of MGB parts as they're 50 yr old design!) Maxda MX5 would appear to be a good donor, given that most MGB specialist suppliers now seem to be also stocking MX5 parts. I've no knowledge of MX5 (except it's RWD)- would the track be suitable for instance? Martin
