The silver tops certainly did have the capacity in big cast letters on
the front of the block, not certain if this carried on onto the black tops.

Yeh the 105 made me think 105ps or maybe 105k mileage!
i suspected that it was a bit of a boo but thought i would check with
you guys ,i don't suppose that the capacity is marked clearly on the
block or head somewhere easily accessable is it to verify further?
Still is that not too bad a value for a 1.8blacktop? he wants 100 for
the autobox on top if thats required too which again isn't that bad
either.
just a last thought ,ford didn't ever make mention of any prototype
1.4 in the blacktop did they ? i know that the silvertops nearly had a
1.4 version in the very beginning i am sure ford must have made some
protos of them?

It's not a Zetec S as they have the inlet manifold on the front of the
engine and the exhaust on the back.
It certainly looks like a later black top Zetec but they only came out
in 1998, never in the Escort (replaced by the Focus by then) and only
1.6 upwards.
The 105 written on the cam cover could mean 105Ps which would make it a
1.8 i think.
I think the seller has got the details mixed up.

So saw this on ebay but the info doesn't seem right.

i have checked with the seller , he confirms that it is 1.4 and the
gearbox is automatic.
is this a blacktop or is it one of the alloy yam engines (they did the
1.25 ,1.4 and 1.6 in the fiesta)
anyone shed any light or thoughts on this?
