Hiya Mine does something similar.
I found that if you hold the handle up, then press the button down, and shut the door, the door is then locked. The key will then open and lock properly until you open the door. As soon as the door is opened and shut again, the lock will not turn. Not an idea solution, but at least you can lock the door until it is fixed (BTW - no idea what the fix is - I have not had chance to post the question). Strongly suggest you make sure the passenger door is open whist you test this (or have the roof down, and windows down!)
