Hi all,
It's with a heavy heart that I am considering selling my Xtreme
(S3-090). It's just not getting used enough, and I don't have the
time or money to do what I want with it. It needs a good home who can
give it the love and care it needs.
As a lad I used to dream of owning a Corrado, and since good VR6s are
now around the £4-5k mark it makes more sense than the Xtreme as I now
have 2 young kids, and a proper second car with 4 seats would mean we
could all use it together, plus a few quid left over would be helpful
in these hard times.
Reason for the post is that I'm trying to find out what the Xtreme is
worth. I thought that since it's 5 years old, has only done 3500
miles, and cost about £12k to build, that I'd be looking at between 6
and 7k, but I see on PistonHeads that someone is selling a similar
spec Xtreme, albeit 13 years old but factory built with only 6k miles
and clearly well looked after, for £3850!
I guess it's only worth what someone will pay, but I've never seen an
Xtreme offered for sale as low as that before, and if it's all mines
worth then (after a little cry) I'll probably decide to keep it.
Does anyone have any recent experience of buying or selling one second
hand, and what, if I might be so crude, was paid?
There's a bit of work to do to get it perfect (yet another cracked
windscreen and a bit of flaking paint on the wishbones), but if I
decide to sell it I'll try at Stoneleigh and see what interest I get.
I'm not trying to sell it on here, but I've put the spec below in case
it helps to value it:
Ocean Blue gelcoat (a one off). Stainless roll bar. TT Roadster high
level brake light.
Rebuilt and rebored Pinto 2L Injection with lowered inlet manifold,
shortened sump, lightened flywheel, 10:1 compression ratio and Piper
sports cam and vernier pulley. Supremely reliable, and running
perfectly.
5 speed gearbox (3k miles old when fitted), LSD Differential (quite
loud when hot but works fine).
Disk brakes all round.
6" stainless silencer with low exit exhaust manifold (no hole in the
bonnet)
Full weather gear.
Black Leather Quantum seats on runners with Sabelt 4 point harnesses.
Momo steering wheel.
5x 15" TSW Stealth alloys (the best looking wheel for the Xtreme IMHO)
with good Yokohama tyres.
