I seem to remember that if you buy your gauges from Green Gauges they can actually supply the fuel gauge mapped to your sender. I bought mine before i heard about that so i've a little 8 pin Microprocessor reading the fuel sender and translating it to PWM values for the gauge. It's not very linear though and i need to finish the Mk2 version that i can calibrate by emptying the tank and then filling it a litre at a time.
