I have rebuilt the front suspension now entirely on my mk2 saloon - 1.8 diesel - new struts, springs, top rubber mounts, lower arms and all rubber bushes replaced. The car had rusty old springs on it and looked too low at the front, now the front is about an inch higher than it was and looks right but the ride is incredibly harsh. The springs I fitted were suitable for a mk2 fiesta 1.6 diesel. Would I be better off fitting the springs from the petrol models?
