The one pack enamel worked fine.

Hi Derek,
Did you use the 2 pack polyurethane or the 1 pack enamel?

Martin,
I have a canal boat and have used international paints. If you
roller and then brush finish soon after there is a very respectable
finish to be had and the thickness of the paint applied can be very
reasonable. It depends what you want.
I think that modern cars are finished to such a high gloss that it's
gone too far. The real driver seems to be to provide a permanent
just waxed look at all times without any requirement to do anything
to the car. That may be OK in one sense, but I still remember when
cleaning was counted as part of the maintenance regime of your
vehicle - a time when you, e.g. checked tyres. Now it seems drivers
never check their cars over, just drive on half flat tyres and stop
on the hard shoulder when a warning light comes on!
Arrrrgh! I've become an old fogey!

Saw it - Well done.
I've been an advocate of brush painting GRP, but everybody seems to
want to go with spraying.
I'd be interested on your thoughts. Who's paint did you use? I
contacted International paints, who considered for a car my plans
to brush paint rather than roller were a good idea. Their guidance
to roller, then tip-off with brush is ideal for larger items (such
as a yatch) though.
I've painted a car before, using single-pack polyurethane alkyd,
and although the finish was great the paint went dull after a few
months! I'll certainly won't be using that again. The single pack
can't be flatted down either - I believe the 2 pack can.
I have to get a paint mixed up to match the Oxford Blue of my Q
saloon so that I can brush paint my "Quantum Sleep" matching
folding caravan - The only place I can find which will mix a
matching paint for brushing is Witham Paints (unless you can advise)
