On my H4 I have a scissor jack stored behind the coolant water expansion
tank next to the scuttle on the driver's side. It has remained there quite
happily for 11 years! The jack handle and long wrench for the wheel nuts
are stored along the side of the suspension turret on the same side, wrapped
in pipe insulation to stop rattles. You are well advised to have a piece of
wood, say 200 x 100 x 50 mm to go between the jack and the car to spread the
load on the fibreglass, in which it is possible to put a screw to locate in
the jack to avoid slippage. Suitable jacking areas are generally accepted
to be the flat areas at either end of the sills.

Subject: [Quantum Owners] H4 jack

Hi
anyone who followede my post on looking for a H4 will know I recently
acquired one. In sorting out the day to day issues, I can't find a jack. I
know that on the Fiesta MK3 they were mounted on the engine bay (quite
cleverly). Doesn't seem so on the H4, and I can't find any refeence in the
bochure or build manual.
Are they just usually thrown in the boot? Given the general well thought out
layout, I thought they might be somewhere clever (again!) that I've just not
thought of or spotted.....
Cheers
