I checked the ecu against a list of ecu codes and it came up pats free, the car
, engine and ecu etc are in my other garage about 1/2 mile away so it would
take a while to check anything.

The reason i asked is because if it's a later car you may have the extra
problem of the PATS anti theft system on the ecu or wiring.
What is the part number on the ECU ?

I don't know what year it is from, all I know for now is the cam cover is
marked DOHC 16V, so its a series 1 zetec, it has another pump mounted high at
the front of the engine, power steering perhaps, and 6 pulleys for the belt to
run around, also at the rear is a unit that is connected to each branch of the
exhaust manifold, I'll be spliting the engine and box and removing the "extras"
hopefully over the weekend.
