I am very much a fan of an extra light coming on for brakes. It is far more visible than a lamp getting brighter. An on off comparison registers far quicker than a brightness comparison. There is a piece of kit available in the US that converts the third brake light into three sections. On application of the brakes the two outer sections flash alternately and quite rapidly before coming on steadily while the centre echoes the normal brake lamp. I like the idea but am unsure of its legality. the controller for this would cost pennies to make and just a couple of hours design and build. Mark Miles
