I meant to say the DMTR needs a XR3 inlet manifold below.

Jim,
Yes you're right the DMTL is for a Golf I think but if you have the
engineeering ability it will fit. The carb on my saloon is a DGAS
definitely not for a XR2 but it's on and runs fine.

I think you'll find that the DMTR was the Weber aftermarket upgrade for
the XR2 and it needs a different manifold, it doesn't bolt on either of
the standard XR2 manifolds.
From memory it needed a XR2 manifold.
There were 2 carbs on the XR2's, the early square top carb with a manual
choke and the later round top carb with a auto choke.
It used to be easy to get conversion kits to convert the later carb to
manual choke but i guess theres not much demand for them now.

Tony,
The 32/24DMTL is the Weber performance upgrade carb for the XR2,
straights swap for the normal carb.

I've found and had a look at my carb, it's different to yours.
The weber part number is stamped on the side of the mounting flange -
in my case it's a 32/34 DMTL.
Manual choke, no electrics at all.
It might be possible to swap the complete unit, but it needs a strip
down and clean up before going anywhere near an engine.
That's not difficult with Webers though.
PM me an email address and I'll send you a pic if you want to see it.

If tony's unit is not suitable - try and find the money.
I bit the bullet after wasting time trying to find a good used unit
for
a 2.0 pinto capri.
The difference in acceleration was noticable no flat spots idled
perfectly the improvement was enormous.
(( think about it - how much do you pay for tyres and how long do they
last?? how long has your carb been used?? pence per mile...))

I advertised a carb on here some time ago - free (+p&p) to good home,
unwanted ebay purchase.
Nobody was interested at the time, AFAIK it's still kicking around my
garage.
Purely from memory, I think it had an electrical connector on it.
If you let me know what model carb you have, I'll have a look and see
if it's the same.

You could try one of the parts sourcing sites who fire out emails to
loads of parts dismantlers (scrap yards to you and I) I have used
them
in the past and they usually come up trumps.
Theres always Ebay of course.
