Maybe it was only the very early Mk2 XR2's that had the manual choke but
i've certainly had 2 that did.
And, i'm sure when i bought a brand new 34DMTR from weber for one of
them i had to buy a new manifold as well.

The above photo is of an early type carb and as far as I am aware they
all had electric chokes.
