Those who have an interest in the cars of yesteryear might like to Read
Raymond Mays appraisal of the P6 Rover.
Those with less interest or less time might just want to cut to the chase
and read that this small V8 in a luxury saloon car achieved overall average
mpg of around 20 mpg when used in conjunction with a carefully matched BW
auto transmission.

Turbine like smoothness was the accolade that Mays used, based on his
experience of the Rover gas turbine prototype, but he ended with a cautionary
note about the Rover 3500 V8 ' 'frustrating to drive on the UK's 70 mph
limited roads.'
