Hi all, >From my experience of fuel tanks in the more demanding marine environment the added expense of aluminium would be worth it over stainless or regular steel...
However, can't imagine any reason why somebody wouldn't choose plastic these days! Tek-Tanks are who I usually use, very helpful and I have found them to be reasonably priced but not sure if they cater for cars yet. http://www.tek-tanks.com/ Strongly discourage the idea of fibreglass though, this has been tried in the past with disastrous results long term.
