It's not normally a problem, the standard fiesta parts should fit.
Are you sure your engine and gearbox mountings are ok ?
Was the previous one replaced because it cracked ?
In which case it may well be the mountings that caused the failure and the new one won't last long.

All the CVH heads have the same ports and stud pattern so any will fit, i've not heard of any that foul the subframe except the turbo ones.

Hi I'm trying to resolve my problem with the front down pipe of the exhaust touching the sub frame. Everything was ok until I had a new patterned part down pipe fitted and now it rattles. I have the 1.4 CVH engine, presumably a 1986 version as per the registration. Does anyone know whether the standard 1.6 XR2 4 into 2 into 1 exhaust will fit the 1.4 head? or the 4 into 1 (similar to the Ashley) There seems to be either the Ashley or the Sportex versions. I only have about 170mm of clearance from the head to the sub frame. I don't want it too loud either! Cheers Tony
