My initial thought would be to open up the return pipe from the matrix and run the engine to see if water will circulate throiugh the matrix.
If it does - Air lock
If it doesn't - Blocked Matrix
Potential to be a BIT Messy...

The following link is for a
Bleed Tee for sale. As fitted by many caterham owners. Greatly reduces the amount of time and messing about bleeding your coolant system. Recommended by the owners club 'Blatchat'. Fits into the top heater hose or any other 16mm coolant pipe.

with no leaks(including the expansion tank bolts) but there is no heat from thematrix, upon further inspection there is no coolant flowing throughthe matrix at all, the hoses to and from are cold up to the matrix andgradually get warmer the further away from the matrix you go, andthere is no coolant inside the matrix, i can tell this because theelbows i fitted to and from is are relatively translucent and no bluecan be seen, so what do we reckon? air lock? blockage?the matrix is brand new as are all the hoses but maybe it is
blocked?could be an air lock but id still expect some coolant to flow troughpuzzledOn Jan 2, 10:54 pm, "jon jackson" <[email protected]> wrote:> We used to grass track and track day a Pug 1.9 GTi and these little French> fancies have an expansion bottle that also has a level sensor whichinforms> you of low coolant if you can find a working example (no easy matter cosits> French!) it could be used.> As some of you know I track dayed that great British kettle a Dolly Sprint> (retired now and safe
