The button only pops up if it has tripped.

It cuts the power to the fuel pump so if you are still hearing the fuel pump running then it's not the switch.

Could be the crank sensor on the way out, these show up most on a cold start when the engine speed is lowest and therefore the output from the crank sensor is also lowest.

Starter motor turns, some desultory attempts at firing but otherwise nothing. Battery fully recharged to no effect. A nuisance as it's my main vehicle.
